LEADING FROM THE FUTURE

A prophetic intercessor that I pray with regularly was discussing with me the efficacy of a well-known Prophet’s leadership. She attributed his ministry’s success to “leadership from the future.” As a seer the concept caused a catharsis of sorts allowing me to see a function, of which has been a significant part of my life, in correct spiritual application. Let’s visit the application and see the Biblical principles and significance of leading from the future.

The natural world is finite for us all, but the spirit world is eternal. Our physical body or flesh suit housing soul and spirit for the earthly sojourn dies, but soul and spirit live forever. The body and soul have freedom of choice to submit to the spirit, hence the continual battle for the soul. Satan relentlessly attempts to manipulate your destined purpose. In Matthew 26:41, Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, and He said to His disciples, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Jesus understood the battle because He was the Godman and His human side was suffering as were His disciples. We are told in Hebrews 4:15 (NLT) This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all the same trials we do, yet he did not sin. He told His disciples to watch and pray – prayer being the key to victory.

This leading from the future term hung in my spirit because it is evident to me that it represents a critical revelation for the place in time where we as the Body of Christ find ourselves. We are at a place in time where we must push through, overcome, and enter the Great Harvest. I know this with all my being and have been prophesying this to all that would listen since 2018. Will we fulfill our providential purpose in God, or must He find another generation? I believe we will accomplish our purpose, though it is of absolute necessity that each of us be quickened to take our share and without procrastination.

Why, in light of the many generations that have failed, is ours so critical? Quite simply we are at a precipice of destruction never known in the past and the Nations look to The United States of America for leadership. At this critical point in time the nations are seeing weakness and evil sycophantic morons that have stolen the last bastion of freedom. Our nation is asleep and numb to the continuous barrage of lies from many of our internal leadership. This leadership labels any attempt of patriots to ensure godliness as insurrection, when they themselves are in fact the insurrectionists attempting to dismantle and destroy our Constitutional Republic. Regardless of the damage done, I decree that evil leadership will never take the heart and spirit of the American Patriot and the Republic will awaken and rise again. The Glory of God is going to sweep through the nations, Ecclesia be established, and every knee bow to the King of Kings.

President Donald Trump represented God and led from the future. Consider that the Deep State and most of our elected officials have done nothing for five years other than attempt to take him down. He operated many steps and echelons above them and all their efforts, on our taxpayer dollars, were futile. Why? He, as King Cyrus, was used by God. The prophets told us God’s plan to use Donald Trump as early as 2007. The first Cyrus, the founder of the Achaemenid Empire and king of Persia from 559-530 BC, conquered Babylon, liberated the Jews from captivity, and sent them back to Jerusalem to restore the temple of God. Examine Isaiah 45: 1-6: “Thus says the Lord to Cyrus, His anointed, whose right hand I have held—to subdue nations before him and to loosen the loins of kings, to open doors before him so that the gates will not be shut: I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and shatter the bars of iron. And I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places so that you may know that I, the Lord, who calls you by your name, am the God of Israel. For Jacob My servant’s sake and Israel My chosen one, I have even called you by your name; I have named you, though you have not known Me. I am the Lord and there is no other; there is no God besides Me. I strengthen you, though you have not known Me, so that they may know from the rising of the sun and from the west that there is no one besides Me.” In both scenarios God found a man capable of executing His plan, even though both were the most unlikely candidates one could imagine.

There is a body of emerging thought about leading from the future. From what I read it concerns business and in summation is basically about being visionary and anticipating where things are headed in the future such that the business can chart a course now toward achieving that end. It makes sense until you consider that no one knows the future but God. Train wreck for the greedy corporate titans – open door for the children of God. Christians need to lead the way in business because we are plugged into the power source that enables us to see the future. What is the disconnect? Quite simply it is that we fail to ask and when we do it is often with the wrong motive. In James 4:2-3 we see: “ You lust and do not have, so you kill. You desire to have and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have, because you do not ask. You ask, and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your passions.”

Although these concepts and facts are nothing new, and in fact rather old, I am excited like a child on Christmas day unwrapping a huge gift. I am seeing the pieces of the puzzle being put together. The Body of Christ has throughout history attempted to reinvent the wheel when Jesus had given the perfect model called Ecclesia. Ecclesia is where the body of Christ knows the future and decrees the will of God governing the affairs of His Kingdom. We have had all the requisite tools for over two thousand years. Perhaps the needed boost of recent time was the reemergence of the ministry gifts of apostle and prophet. The apostle oversees because he has the blueprints or plans of how God wants us to move and the prophet sees, hears, and discerns the voice of the Lord. The two gifts work in consonance with each other and bring wholeness/completion to the other three ministry gifts. Consider Amos 3:7 “For the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.”

So, in summation we have been given all requisite tools to see the future, therefore we can lead from the future which God has shown us. We know what God wants and have His plan to get there. Yes, as Paul says in 1 Corinthians 13:12 “For now we see as through a glass, dimly, but then, face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know, even as I also am known,” but the truth sets us free. We know that the world was framed by the Word of God and that He existed before the world began and will exist forever. The evidence of His existence and creation cannot be refuted. I believe it all boils down to faith. What do you believe? This is something every human must resolve, and it should be rather obvious that man is not the answer.

So how do we lead from the future? I believe through intercession we go to the future that God has planned for us. We battle against principalities and powers that stand in our way until we connect with God. When the connection is made, we grasp and pull into our present the will of God. We are given that authority and possess that power. Never forget what Revelation 1:6 says: He has made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”  This is the Priesthood of the Believer. The Apostle Peter, in 1 Peter 2:5, put it this way: “You yourselves, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood and to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”

Let’s return to asking. Nothing happens until we ask. God pleads with us to ask that His purpose be accomplished through us. He doesn’t intervene until we ask. If He wanted to do it all for us, He would not have given us the keys. He even goes so far as to say, “command of Me” – Isiah 45:11 says “For the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker says this, Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons, And give Me orders concerning the work of My hands.”

“Psalm 2:8, a psalm of David says: “ask of Me and I will give you the nations as an inheritance.” The nations are the inheritance of the Son, but the Son is the seed of David and we are coinheritors of it all. Throughout scripture God beckons us to ask of Him. The prophet Jeremiah (Jeremiah 29:11-14) gives this word of God: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.” Again in Jeremiah 33:1-3, “Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying: Thus says the Lord, the Maker of the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it; the Lord is His name: Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.

I will go a step further and say it is entirely possible to command time. It has been done. Consider several examples. Joshua commanded the sun and moon to stand still. Joshua 10:7-14 “So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valor. The Lord said to Joshua, ‘Do not be afraid of them, for I have given them into your hand. Not a single man can stand before you.’ Then Joshua came upon them suddenly, having marched all night from Gilgal. The Lord panicked them before Israel. They struck them with overwhelming force at Gibeon, then Israel pursued them on the road that rises to Beth Horon and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah. As they fled from Israel on the downslope from Beth Horon, the Lord hurled large hailstones down upon them from the sky as far as Azekah. They died, and in fact more died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword. On the day the Lord gave over the Amorites to the children of Israel, Joshua spoke to the Lord and said in full view of Israel: ‘Sun, stand still over Gibeon; and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.’ So the sun stood still, and the moon stood in place until the people brought vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the book of Jashar? The sun stood still in the middle of the sky and did not set for about a full day. There has not been a day like this either before or after it, when the Lord obeyed a man, for the Lord waged war for Israel.” Consider Jesus and boat being instantly across the sea. John 6:16-21 “Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea. They got into a boat and went across the sea toward Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them. The sea was stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. So, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat. And they were afraid. But, He said to them, “It is I. Do not be afraid.” Then they gladly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

Listen to the words of our Lord Jesus in John 14:12-14, “Truly, truly I say to you, he who believes in Me will do the works that I do also. And he will do greater works than these, because I am going to My Father. I will do whatever you ask in My name, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” Can your faith rise to this level? You have been given the authority and when your faith rises to the requisite level the anointing comes upon you and makes connection with the dunamis power of Almighty God. If in great faith your decree aligns with His word it will be done. A good starting point is to begin our day decreeing the scriptural word and will of God. We all need to expand our faith beyond our self-imposed limitations. We can do all things through Christ and must let Holy Spirit lead and empower us.

Revelation 5:10 says: “And He has made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth,” therefore we need to accomplish our priestly duty in excellence. Accomplish your destined purpose such that when you face our Lord you will hear “well done thy good and faithful servant.” Great discernment and intercession are requisite to our success. As the sons of Issachar were able to discern the times (1Chronicles 12:32), we also should ask for that anointing. The sons of Issachar possessed the anointing to know the future and were relied upon to provide the same to leaders. They knew what God was going to do and when He would do it. They were one of the three tribes that led when the nation moved. When the tribes were split concerning support of King David, they only fully supported him. We need this anointing of discernment and wisdom that enables and compliments the believer in leading from the future.

In Matthew 7:7-8 Jesus compels us to ask, seek, and knock. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened.” Again, I say that it boils down to one’s level of faith. We have the complete word of God, redemption by Jesus the Godman, and leadership of Holy Spirit to walk with us. I hope and pray that I have at least whet your appetite and that you will let these things percolate in your spirit. We are here by Father’s providential purpose and He is saying I am with you and you can do this. I ask you – will you?
