YOU BECOME THE BOOKS YOU READ & THE PEOPLE YOU ASSOCIATE WITH

I desire to impart to you a nugget of wisdom.

If you have ever listened to motivational speakers or read their books you have probably encountered the thought “You become the books you read and the people you associate with.” It is more than a thought as it is a reality. And it is scriptural. Psalm119:129-130 says “Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore, my soul keeps them. The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” I love this because it says it all, i.e. We are created in the image of God and Jesus tore the veil through His once and for all propitiation for our sins on the cross, which allowed us into the Father’s presence and opened eternity with Him. Also significant is that we, being like Him, are able to create through that which we speak. There are many other expressions of this in the Bible, the Word of God. I do hope you understand this. It is a real and proven concept. If you want worldly success and wealth speak, conceive, and believe. I want more than what this world offers so I put the Word of God into my being each day. I communicate with God and with people that speak wisdom into my life. I am a transient being traveling through this world to my final eternal destiny with God. Though Holy Spirit should the primary one to impart and move us from glory to glory, we nevertheless have purpose on this practice field we call earth, as we move toward eternity, which I will further explain. Please realize though that scripture reminds us, and I think you must agree, that life is but a vapor – here today and gone tomorrow. In other words, I am saying to not procrastinate in your preparation for eternity as you have no idea as to when you will draw your last breath.

Advice from years, pain, and tears

My advice is to make the Bible your primary reading source and let it guide you into all truth. I also recommend careful choice of friends. I believe in having a variety of friends, to include those farther along than you, that can speak into your life, those on your level that relate to you (iron sharpens iron), and those that you can influence and assist in raising up in their destined purpose. This is Biblical and proven. Finally, I would address the critical need for earthly fathers that can alleviate the many obstacles and pitfalls you face, because they have already faced and conquered them. God did not intend in anyway for you to go it alone. If you say that Jesus is all you need, you are opening a gate for deception that our enemy will aggressively pursue.

What does God’s word say? James 1:5 says “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him” and James 3:17 “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.” Consider also this aggregate of Scripture: “The inspiration of the Almighty giveth understanding.” This is that “wisdom that cometh from above,” and there is the promise fulfilled, “I will pour out My spirit unto you; I will make My words known unto you.” “I will cause their heart to retain My words.” “Knowledge is easy to him that understands.” “The entrance of Thy words gives light; it gives understanding.” We also know the technology term “garbage in = garbage out.” This applies to us also, so I encourage you to consume only the best available. The Bible, the word of God, has every good and perfect thing you need to successfully negotiate your mortal life and transition to life eternal. Repent and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior today and prosper now as well as in eternity. The body is mortal, but the spirit is eternal.  Selah.
